Happy Holidays Love Bugs,
I can’t believe it is the very last year of the iconic Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I have to say that this has been at the top of my to-do list on every trip I have been to for the holidays because quite frankly, there is nothing like it anywhere else!
For those that may not be aware, the lights put up during this event were donated by the Osborne Family, who were notorious for hosting an extravagant light show at their home. Disney decided to portray the same kind of display at the parks when the lights were donated, and after twenty fun-filled years, the lights will be coming down for the least time in January 2016. The show has dozens of facades covered in millions of lights. These lights are synched with all of your favorite holidays tunes and create the most dazzling display you will ever see! Check out a sample of the gorgeous lights here!
As always, Disney infuses really cool treats within their display. While you’re checking out the lights this year, why not have some fun with a scavenger hunt? Everyone loves a good scavenger hunt, so I am creating one for you with all of the little (and not so little) added treats that Disney as to offer. Here is a scavenger hunt of some of my favorite things to look for when you’re visiting this beautiful event!

Can you spot the hidden Mickeys I found in these pictures?
6. Hidden (and not so hidden) Mickeys
As with everything else on Disney property, there are tons of hidden Mickeys throughout the entire light display. Some are large and others are tiny, so it can definitely be fun trying to snap as many pictures of all of the ones you find and comparing it to those that your family and friends took.
5. The Force is Strong With the Spectacle of Dancing Lights
Star Wars is booming now, so how appropriate is it that Star Wars is infused into this years spectacle? Be on the lookout for the Rebel and Empire logos, along with Kylo Ren and Luke’s lightsaber!
4. Tinkerbell’s 20 Logo
This commemorative logo hangs high above the spectacle with a large number 20 to resemble the twenty years of the festival!
3. Perfect Postcard Scene
Pictures are the best memory makers (no pun intended). Disney definitely knows how to set up the scene for great picture taking. If you’re looking for a great way to capture the holiday season, look no further than this awesome postcard scene. This is a great background to have your whole family take a picture in front of!
2. Hints of Disney Films
There are some really cute scenes set up that are part of some of our favorite Disney films. For example, you can find this cute set up from the iconic scene in Lady and the Tramp (pictured above) and this adorable scene of 101 Dalmatians (below). Keep an eye out for these around the display!
1. The Famous Black Cat
When the Osborne family sent all of their lights over to Disney, they accidentally included a light-up black cat. Disney decided to use this to their advantage and include the cat in their spectacle each and every year. You will need to look reeeeeally closely to find him because a cast member told me they move him around sometimes. This is one of the most challenging parts of my scavenger hunt, so good luck!
Although I am totally bummed that this gorgeous display is at its end, I am blessed with the opportunity to have been able to experience it each and every year. Have a great time if you do get to check it out! The last day of the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is January 3rd!
